With this announcement, the R11 Structural Office portfolio expands to 8 components.

S-FOUNDATION Design is a comprehensive analysis, design and detailing tool for both complex and simple foundation applications. It provides the engineer the ability to quickly define and edit Isolated, Combined, Continuous, Wall, and Strap Footings, as well as Mat and Pile Foundations, all in a parametric modeling environment. As the footings and foundations are created by the engineer, S-FOUNDATION automatically generates and manages an underlying FEA model. S-FOUNDATION designs to multiple country codes, performs finite element analysis and utilizes the powerful S-CALC and S-CONCRETE engines.

S-FOUNDATION Design can be used as a stand-alone application, but it is also completely integrated within S-FRAME Analysis for a detailed study of soil-structure interaction. As with other R11 S-FRAME Software offerings, S-FOUNDATION includes powerful BIM/CAD links, advanced 3D model visualization, comprehensive PDF and MS Excel reports, and customization or automation using open .NET API and Python scripting. S-FOUNDATION Design supports ACI, CSA, and EC2 concrete design codes.

S-FOUNDATION Design is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2013.

The Chinese section-property database files have been enhanced by adding new sections.
A bilinear Maxwell damper has been implemented as a new link property. This device is a linear spring in series with a dashpot whose force-velocity relationship exhibits bilinear viscous behavior, typical of certain oil dampers having a relief valve.
A friction-spring hysteretic damper has been implemented as a new link property. The force-displacement relationship exhibits linear slipping stiffness when loading, but unloads with a smaller slipping stiffness. A pre-compression displacement and a displacement stop-limit may be specified.
The specification of the notional size used for time-dependent creep and shrinkage analysis has been enhanced to now be specified with the frame and shell section properties instead of with the material property.
A new staged-construction operation “Change Section & Age” is now available allowing specification of the “Age at Add” when changing frame sections or shell sections.
Table output can now request the correspondence between the response components at a single location for additive-, range-, and enveloping-type load combinations. Results that admit correspondence includes most displacement, force, and stress response quantities.
The import of primary data from SACS data files is now available.

oCam has screen capture and screen recording functionality to offer. This means you can use this application to take a screenshot of whatever is displayed on your PC’s screen; take a screenshot of a certain region on the screen or of the entire screen. It also means that you can make a video recording of whatever is on your screen; record the screen & audio input, record audio input only, record system audio, record from the microphone, record a game.

oCam works with 32- and 64-bit versions of Microsoft’s Windows operating system. That’s any version from Windows XP up to Windows 8.1, which is the latest Windows release at the time of writing this. You will have to complete a standard installation process to get oCam up and running on a Windows PC: download an installer, run it, follow a setup wizard’s instructions.

oCam’s interface is made up of two elements. The first one is a green rectangle that you can place anywhere you want on the screen; whatever is underneath this rectangle will be captured or recorded. The second one is a control panel that you can use to access all the features and settings oCam has to offer.

From this control panel you can access the following features: resize the green rectangle; open the Options menu and set hotkeys, select a watermark, pick a language, and more; take a screenshot; initiate the recording process; record the screen & audio input, record audio input only; select one of many codecs; record system audio or record from the mic; record a game.
